Eupeodes luniger – Moon Hoverfly

This species (Eupeodes luniger) is sometimes called the Moon or Moon-marked Field Hoverfly. Some authorities have it in a sub-genus as  Metasyrphus luniger – I guess the jury is still out.

The jury will not take long to decide on how bad the photo below is – I’ll try harder!
