Pyrausta aurata – Mint Moth

I was fascinated to find quite a few of these moths around my garden pond when the mint-like plants started to flower. When I looked it up I found how appropriate the name was.

Until you get up close and personal these months look as if they are irredescent – shining like tiny ‘Quality Street’ chocolates.
